Hong Kong (November 16, 2013) – Beloved Hong Kong artist Aaron Kwok will hit the stage at the 2013 MnetAsian Music Awards (2013 MAMA), announced Asia’s No.1 Content Company CJ E&M today.

One of the legendary “Four Heavenly Kings,” Aaron Kwok is recognized as Hong Kong’s leading entertainer of all time as a singer, model, and actor. Since his debut in 1988 with “The Final Verdict,” his name has gained international fame for his appealing appearance and outstanding acting, singing, and dancing ability. He has also featured in various hit films such as ‘A Moment of Romance,’ ‘The Storm Warriors’ and ‘Anna Magdalena.’ He made his debut as a singer in 1990 with the famous song ‘Loving You Forever’.

As one of the most famous singers as well as actors in Asia, Kwok’s presence will shine at 2013 MAMA. Those Asian fans who followed him in the 1990s know him as an important generational icon. He is expected to symbolize the past, present and future of Asian music at 2013 MAMA.

Hyung-kwan Shin, Head Executive of 2013 MAMA remarked, “I expect that the participation of such a beloved celebrity as Aaron Kwon in Chinese speaking countries as well as Korea will make the whole purpose of MAMA more enchanting.”

Far more than a year-end music awards ceremony, MAMA is Asia’s premier music festival acclaimed by fans around the world for its advanced stage production and mega-scale performances. It also has been instrumental in introducing Korea’s high-end production system to global audiences. MAMA’s origins trace back to 1999 and the Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF), an awards show instrumental at the time in leading the growth of the Korean music industry. In 2009, MKMF was renamed the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), and in 2010, the festival started its Asian tour in Macau. Last year’s MAMA was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Hong Kong.
